4 Ways To Boost Your Self Confidence

When we focus on building our confidence from within we build the type of confidence that makes us feel like anything is possible. This type of confidence allows us the freedom to live a life without internal judgements or people-pleasing, no second-guessing or self-criticism. Start building your confidence from within using the ways listed below:

Choose one thing you are good at and master it:

We often choose to focus on our weaknesses when we want to self-improve. We chip away our self-confidence by comparing ourselves to others and focusing on what we need to fix instead of recognising what we are already good at. When we compare our weaknesses to others strengths it’s easy to feel you are not good enough. Instead; focus on something you are already good at, do it everyday and become even better at it! When we focus on things that leverage our strengths we naturally start to feel more confident overall.

Not sure what you are good at or what your strengths are? Consider answering these questions;

What feels like fun to me, but work to others?

What makes me lose track of time?

Where do I get greater results than the average person?

What comes naturally to me?

Alongside becoming better at what you are already good at, learn a new skill:

The sense of achievement that comes with learning a new skill is a fantastic way to increase your confidence, the key to feeling good about it is to choose a skill that feels more inline with your current abilities and interests rather than against them. For example; If you have a love of nature, choose a skill that enables you to explore the outdoors such as rock climbing or photography. 

Spend time with people that lift you up:

Our environment plays a big impact on how we feel and how we behave. To build confidence from within you want to surround yourself with people who genuinely believe in you, your abilities and want nothing but the best for you. The best place to start is to find an environment where you can be yourself and you already have a common goal or interest. 

Be kind to yourself:

There will be days when you feel the work you put in isn’t giving you the results you’re after and there will be days you have a confidence set-back. Just remember to be kind to yourself. Building confidence from within is something that takes time, a lot of set-backs and self-care. You are ultimately learning a new way to live out your life, whenever it feels too difficult, remember each step is worth it, you are worth it.
