Habits and rituals are like laying foundations down for self-growth and success – in all areas of life. Check-in on your habits and see what new habits or rituals you can start to help you increase your self-confidence and help you create a better life for yourself.
1. No phone before during the first and last hour of being awake.
Give yourself time to re-ground and focus on you for at least the first and final hour of the day. Use this time in whatever ways you feel you need to help you live more aligned with your best self. If you’re someone that looks at their phone before doing anything else in the morning, (or even the last thing you look at before going to sleep) create a new healthier habit such as drinking a glass of water, reading a chapter of a book, meditating, stretching, whatever works best for you.
Coaching tip: if you don’t know where to start, consider what your ideal morning would look like. Visualise where you would wake up, the time you would wake up, how you feel as you get out of bed, what would you drink and eat for breakfast, what clothes would you dress into, what would be your beauty routine, how would you feel as you leave for work? Write it down and commit to taking small steps everyday to turn it into your reality.
2. Spend 2 minutes a day visualising your big goals and dream life.
Manifesting is an emotional connection to what you want in your life. It’s proven over and over again, whatever we choose to focus on and where our energy is directed, we attract more of it in our life. Spending 2 minutes a day visualising your vision and goals will keep you on focused on your priorities, push you to make decisions and motivate you to take daily steps in the right direction of achieving everything you want.
Coaching tip: Take your vision and goals ‘out of your head’ to help you stop overthinking the ’the should’s’ and ’the what if’s’. Create a vision board with images and quotes, a dream jar with all your individual goals clearly written down on little pieces of paper or perhaps write down affirmations you can repeat each day. To practice manifesting you need to let go of the need to have anything now, choose to trust that what you do will get you to where you want to be.
3. De-load ‘what went well and what could be better’ each evening.
Check-in at the end of the day to help increase your self-awareness. Focus on how you behaved, the action you took, and the outcomes impacted your life (and if they supported your vision and goals). Then consider what would be better if… (you did things differently).
Coaching tip: Focus on listing all the positives for the day and then choose 1 thing you could do even better – confident women celebrate accomplishments and do not dwell on short-comings.
4. Set your 3 priority actions for the day.
As part of your morning routine identify the 3 priorities for your day and direct your energy towards completing these things first. This clarity and focus will allow you to feel in control of your day and motivate you to do the work (and stop procrastinating!)
Coaching tip: Before you write your 3 priorities, set your intention for the day – this grounding exercise helps you connect with what you need to thrive!
5. Schedule in your rest breaks.
Your energy will run out therefore creating daily rest and recharge rituals throughout the day are essential for you to be your best self. Consider what healthy habits you can integrate into your day, for example drinking more water, taking a lunch break away from your desk, having a healthy breakfast, going for walk, exercising in the morning, meditation or mindful moments.
Coaching tip: Don’t know where to start? Focus on 1 habit or ritual at a time – if you want to drink more water, focus on this becoming consistent in your day and you becoming really good at it, consider the steps that will make you succeed – buying a new water bottle, using a water tracker app, adding fresh fruit or flavoured teas to make it taste more interesting). Once you feel you are mastering this new habit or ritual start on adding in another one, continuing to focus on one step at a time.
