In the mist of stress, overwhelm and on the brink of burnout we don’t often notice how much self hating we do and can get caught going down a rabbit hole of questions and thoughts that lead us only to more stress, overwhelmed and burnout.
The story can go something like this;
The ‘haters’:
“You should be grateful you have a job”
“Suck it up”
“If I can do it, so can you”
Talking to yourself:
“Why I can’t I cope?”
“What’s wrong with me?”
“I’m never going to be able to do this?”
Sound familiar?
To get out of this rabbit hole, the first step is to take one step back (literally or mentally) and reground yourself. You’re feeling this way for a reason – something is probably ‘off’ but hating yourself through it is not going to help.
Action: Take 10 minutes check-in with yourself, it can be this simple to gain some perspective.
