
#Morethanmiles Run Club is for each runner to experience the sense of connection and accomplishment running has to offer. From total beginner or seasoned pro, running with others really isn’t about the time you do, but the time you have!
My running club originally started as an add-on to my own ultra marathon training in 2014. It was also to show others I am no different to them and they also have the potential to achieve their running goals when a little commitment, encouragement and enjoyment is added into the training schedule.
We meet once a week, the women who have joined me have achieved amazing things; from running their first 5k and 10ks, to competing in their first triathlon. People often say to me “I’m not a runner like you.” However, I believe if you put one foot in front of the other and run, then you are runner. There is no segregation with ability, we meet together once a week to enjoy the experience of running with each other. We share weekly training stories – the highlights and the struggles, celebrate milestones, nutrition tips and help each other with actions to reach targets and goals. We laugh and cry together, it’s more than just about the miles.
